With the amount of ambient out there, it is nearly impossible to track down the essential releases and artists. I don’t recall exactly how I came upon Nigel’s work, though I imagine it was probably through a review in Vital Weekly. The one that hooked me was “Satin Doll Jazz Club” with it’s field recordings, Caretaker echoes of jazz recordings from the 30’s and overall atmosphere. I was hooked with Nigel’s work, and he remains very much under the radar. Here is, clearly, a limited CDR release (a numbered of a mere 25 copies) on the Italian CDR label Sounds Against Humanity.
